We are involeved in probate cases and have located missing heirs in different places in China, including the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. We’ve also helped probate companies obtaining official documents such as death certificates and divorce decree absolute certificates in Hong Kong.
Unlike the situation in Hong Kong, in the mainland such official documents are only available to the registered subject or the subject’s family members. Take death certificates as an example, after a death occurs, a medical death certificate would be issued to the bereaved family by a hospital or by the police. The certificate may contains information on age, gender, marital status, place of permanent residence, place of death, education attainment, occupation and causes of deaths. Such a certificate is required for burying the deceased and for dissolving the household registration of the decedent.
